The newlyweds say they were on their second date when a spaceship hovered over their parked car and whisked them away to outer space.
They said the captain of the ship ordered them to participate in a bizarre ceremony, after which he pronounced them a "biological unit."
"He communicated to us by mental telepathy, and it was pretty clear what he was doing," said Sandy, 19. "He was marrying us and he told us we must never part.
"We don't know each other too well, but we feel like this was a real wedding. We'll go ahead and have a civil ceremony to make it legal - but as far as we're concerned, we're married already."
The starry-eyed sweethearts say their weird wedding occurred on the night of March 17. The two had gone to dinner, then parked on a deserted road to talk.
Tom, 23, remembers seeing a sudden burst of light. Then he and Sandy were sucked up into the belly of a hovering spaceship. Both recall lying on a table as grayish aliens worked on them with a variety of electronic instruments.
Later, they were brought before a tall, slender being with light green skin and a hairless body.
This person -- clearly the captain of the spaceship -- asked them to kneel before him as he recited strange words over them, sprinkling sparkling dust on their heads. Afterward, he told them they were "biologically united."
"He said we should produce offspring," Sandy said. "He said our union was permanent and that we should remain together always. Then he said he was sending us home - and the next thing we knew, we were back in our car, shaking our heads in wonder."
